Key Player
The founding member of Magnum Opus Films is Natasha Tighe, an Irish/Australian Independent Producer/Writer/Director/Financial Controller. At 17 Natasha was a successful Freelance sign writer and cartoonist and enrolled in Art College and became a graphic designer. She then left college to work and travel extensively through Europe. She worked and lived in England, France and Germany before finally leaving for Australia in 1990.
Soon after arriving in Australia Natasha co-established Xtech Studios, a 24 track professional Music recording and rehearsal studios in Port Melbourne that produced numerous soundtracks for TV Commercials, recorded live bands, Judged music competitions, sponsored youth groups and provided three rehearsal rooms for hire. During this time Natasha also managed a pub, established a nightclub and studied drama for 2 years at night. Natasha proudly became an Australian citizen in 1992.
In 1992 Natasha dissolved her partnership in Xtek Studios and got a job in a Film Production Company and within a year was promoted to Production Manager. Natasha worked at Apollo Films for Andrew Wiseman and Richard Keddie for many years before going freelance.
For the last 10 years Natasha has worked in the Australian Film industry as a self employed Production Manager/Researcher/Director on Environmental Films, Television Documentaries, Docudrama's, TV Commercials, Multimedia, Corporates, Feature Length TV Specials, Feature Films and Media Events. Many of the projects Natasha has worked on have received International and National Awards.
Natasha established Magnum Opus Films in 1997 and is currently writing, producing and co-producing various documentary and feature film projects of her own while also providing production and financial services to various clients.
Over the last 10 years Natasha has completed various courses in Acting, Business Management, Producing and Production Managing, Budgeting and Finance, Directing, Screenwriting, Acting and Fencing and was selected by SPAA for the SPAA Conference Emerging Producers Scheme in 2003.
Natasha Tighe is a keen Bonsai Enthusiast, Bush Walker, Fiddle player, Cinema goer and a member of the Australian Film Institute, The Australian Conservation Society, The Victorian Parks Association and Associate member of the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA) and the Australian Writers Guild (AWG).
